Steve has nearly 20 years of experience working with all levels of rare coins. From setting up dealer tables in Michigan before he had a driver’s license, to working with multi-million dollar rarities with some of the biggest names in the business, Steve has seen and evaluated tens of thousands of coins and can use those experiences to help you.
Appraisals

The 1907 Saint-Gaudens $20 double eagle is one of the most beautiful coins ever produced. Valuing rare coins often takes more than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Simply put, virtually no coin dealers are currently doing appraisals that would withstand scrutiny. The Universal Standards of Personal Property Appraisals set out standards that appraisals should follow. When a coin dealer is doing an appraisal, is he or she really able to be objective?
The majority of my coin appraisal business is from attorney referrals when a local appraiser did a poor job and caused a family legal problems. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.
I can provide objective values, based on market experience and applying broad appraisal practices with coin’s unique vocabulary. Whether you’re trying to figure out what your coins are worth to make sure you get a fair price when selling, are evaluating a potential purchase, or need an update for insurance purposes, an accurate appraisal is nearly always worth the cost. It is a lasting document that can travel with your collection, saving your heirs a headache as a useful estate planning tool. Minimum collection value: $2,500.
